Puentes Mission
Created by a group of people volunteering in group homes in Lima in February 2002, Puentes’ original mission was to create and finance projects that contribute to the well-being of the children we had seen living on the streets and in rehabilitation group homes. These projects may seem like simple, everyday things to those of us living in the west, but for these children, birthday parties and camping trips would not happen without the support of organizations such as Puentes.Â
Since its founding Puentes has broadened the variety of programmes it offers and now reaches out to even more children in the Lima area, making their lives that bit more normal, and helping to give them the motivation to stay off the streets.
