Where do Your Donations Go?

Puentes aims to keep its overheads as low as possible, so you can be assured that your donation does go to children living in rehabilitation centres and on the streets of Peru's cities. To give you an idea of how far your donation goes, have a look below at examples of the kind of things we pay for and the average costs.  Thank you for your donation!

What Your Money Does  
  • £5 / $10 buys 2 children birthday presents
  • £10 / $20 takes 10 children on a country picnic
  • £20 / $40 brings 40 children to an outdoor swimming pool for the day
  • £25 / $50 pays for a museum outing and afternoon snacks for 30 children
  • £30 / $60 pays for a cinema outing with snacks as a Christmas treat for 15 children
  • £50 / $100 enables 25 children to train for and compete in a football tournament
  • £100 / $200 pays for food, drink, transport and entry to an activity park for 30 children
  • £500 / $1000– would pay for all of the following:
    - birthday parties, cake and presents for 15 children
    - 16 children to participate in music workshops, including purchase of musical instruments
    - a juggling workshop for 40 children
    - a day trip to the beach for 50 children

 

How to donate in the UK

The best way to donate is through the JustGiving website available here. In this way you can be reassured that your donation will be received quickly and securely. JustGiving also sort out the Gift Aid on your donation should you wish to add it, which greatly reduces the workload for the trustees and reduces our overheads.

How to donate in the US

In the United States, tax-deductible donations may be through the Saranac Lake Rotary Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations may also be made electronically through Facebook.
